WALK!
DO NOT RUN!

People running can trip, causing pile ups. Your instinct will be to run when gas is in the air, but please remember these words.
DO. NOT. RUN.

PPE IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Do your best to locate a mask, Respirator or eye protection. If you have any medical conditions that can be triggered, and if you are not prepared for tear gas, pepper spray and crowd surges, consider staying away from the front line.

PEPPER BALLS, Gas & Mace

Always wash your hands Before touching your face.

Clean pepper balls with saline or soapy water.

Clean mace with soapy water only.

Clean gas with saline, soapy water, milk of magnesia

INJURIES

If you are injured, find a medic - they will have a big red + on them. Yell the word, 'MEDIC' and one will find you. We are a community - we are here to help. Operation inflation will be able to direct you to a medic or the safe house for decontamination, should you need it.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

Stay alert: look around you. Keep track of exit and escape routes. Keep an eye on police movements and crowd dynamics.

WHEN "IT" HAPPENS

In the case of gas, pepper balls, or any kind of panic inducing event - walk, don't run. Move calmly If there is gas, close your mouth and shut your eyes. Walk through the gas, not away, and move towards higher ground - you'll get to fresh air quicker. Use your sign to fan the gas away from you. If there are pepper balls or gas canisters, pour some h20 on it.

DIGITAL & PRIVACY SAFETY

Turn off wi-fi, bluetooth, and location services. Share footage later, not live, unless strategically planned. Do not post photos or videos of anyone committing a crime online. Remember - anything on camera will shape public perception.

RESTROOMS

Spaghetti Factory, Subway, the Mill End Cafe.

These are all places that will allow you to use their bathroom - Consider purchasing Something from them to support our south Waterfront community and businesses. The safe house may also be used if needed.

RESOURCES FOR ALL

All snacks, water, and med supplies are for everyone.

COMMUNITY - HELP EACH OTHER

Ask if you don't know

Someone will have an answer.

Filming?

Not everyone wants to be documented. Can be used in the court of law against you or others.

Turn off wi-fi, bluetooth, and location services. Share footage later, not live, unless strategically planned. Do not post photos or videos of anyone committing a crime online. Remember - anything on camera will shape public perception.

Talk to someone before you leave — then COME BACK.

If not here, show up SOMEWHERE.

AFTERCARE - SUPPORTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Protests can be intense and traumatic. If you feel despair, defeated, or dissociated—pause and ground yourself. Emotional care matters too: talk with trusted friends, decompress, and avoid replaying footage if it feels re-traumatizing. Rest and reconnect—sustaining yourself sustains the movement. Rest, hydrate, - gentle supports like dandelion or milk thistle helps.
